Peas Pulav/Matar Pulav

   I made this quick recipe for my kids. They really love it.  I wanted to make something within 20 minutes.

 Serves up to 2
Ingredients:

1 cup of  rice
1 3/4 cup of water
1 finely chopped onion
1 small cup of peas
4 green chilies chopped
1 tbsp minced ginger
3 cloves garlic

1 tbsp of coriander powder
1 tbsp of oil
1 tbsp of melted butter
1 tsp aniseed
1 inch cinnamon
3 cloves
1  piece of anasi poo
1 bay leaf
salt as required

Preparation:

1.In a preheated pan add melted butter and oil. Add  1 tsp of aniseed, bay leaf, anasi poo, cloves and cinnamon to the oil.
2.As the nice aroma comes, add onion, garlic saute for 3 minutes. Now add ginger and green chilies, saute for 2 more minutes (add the green chili as per your spice level). 
3.Add  peas, coriander powder* (I prefer freshly ground) and rice, saute till the moisture evaporates.
4.Add the ingredients to the pressure cooker, add the water and salt. As the water boils, close the lid. Pressure cook them.
5.Peas pulav is ready. Serve with raitha.

* slightly roast coriander and grind them.
